Our ancestors believed that the towel accompanied us throughout our lives, from birth to death, as a personification of our life’s journey.
The culture of embroidering towels was most widespread in the Naddniprians, where we found these authentic and unique birds.
The meaning of ornaments
Ukrainians have long embroidered birds as protectors from evil spirits. They did it on both sides of the Tree of Life – This is how birds personified the souls of ancestors who protect the family.
- The rooster is a harbinger of a new day, light, and dispels darkness and all evil spirits
- Dove – the Holy Spirit or a wedding bird, which symbolizes mutual love and family in a couple
- Pava is a pre-Christian goddess, Lada is the patron saint of the family.
- A duck is an image of springtime, carols, and a symbol of life
Embroidery techniques
To embroider birds, you will need the following techniques:
1. Cross (simple, oblique)

Where to start?
The special “Magic” of the set is in the super stickers with embroidery designs on them. Here are the tips on how to use them.
Stickers
Simply take the sticker, separate it from the adhesive backing and apply it to the fabric (don’t forget to smooth it out by hand)

Get it wet
When everything is ready, put the finished product in warm water, massaging the places where the sticker is attached, or simply wash it in the washing machine in the delicate cycle (we recommend the second option)
